4 Day Primates to Predators: Kibale & Queen Elizabeth Safari

After an early breakfast, you will be briefed by the guide about the 4-day safari. You will then set off from your hotel as you embark on the journey to Kibale National Park, located in western Uganda, approximately 5-6 hours away. Along the way, enjoy views of the lush countryside, tea plantations, and local villages. You will have a stopover for lunch in Fort Portal town before continuing to the park. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and freshen up.

In the afternoon, embark on a guided nature walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, an excellent spot for primate viewing, birdwatching, and learning about local conservation efforts. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, head to the Kibale National Park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing by park rangers.Embark on an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure in the rainforest. The trek typically lasts between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzee groups. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat, capturing photos, and learning about their behavior

Along the way, you will also spot other primates like red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest before checking out. Depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, a 3-4hour drive through breathtaking landscapes, including the Rwenzori Mountain foothills. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and enjoy a relaxing evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up early for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, one of the best spots to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hyenas, and leopards. Enjoy the stunning sunrise and the thrill of tracking wildlife with the help of an experienced guide. After lunch, embark on an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The boat cruise provides an up-close encounter with hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species, including African fish eagles, pelicans, and kingfishers. After the boat ride, return to your lodge for an evening of leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge before heading to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This part of the park is famous for its rare tree-climbing lions, which are often seen lounging in the branches of fig trees.

Have a final game drive in search of these unique predators, along with other wildlife such as elephants and topis. After the game drive, depart for Kampala/Entebbe, with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. Make another stop at the Uganda Equator for a photo opportunity and a chance to buy souvenirs. Arrive back in Kampala/Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of the safari.
