Overview

Kibale National Park is a biodiversity hotspot famed for its dense tropical rainforest, rich wildlife, and most notably its incredible primate population. Home to 13 primate species, including over 1,500 chimpanzees, Kibale offers one of the best opportunities to observe these intelligent creatures in their natural habitat. Continue the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, provides a serene contrast with rich birdlife, swamp monkeys, and an immersive cultural touch. This 3-day itinerary is perfect for travelers seeking both adventure and connection with nature.

Day 01 :

TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, meet up with your guide who will brief you about the trip you’ll set off on a scenic journey to Kibale National Park. The drive takes you through stunning countryside landscapes, dotted with charming villages, verdant forests, and sprawling tea plantations. You'll pause in Fort Portal a picturesque town celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and captivating scenery to enjoy a leisurely lunch before continuing to the park. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and re-freshen up.

Have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 02 :

CHIMPANZEE TREKKING EXPERIENCE

Wake up and haveearly breakfast transfer to Kanyanchu Visitor Center by 7:30 AM for a briefing. Begin chimpanzee trekking at 8:00 AM. The trek may take 2 -4 hours depending on chimp locations. You may also spot red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, olive baboons, and over 200 bird species. Spend up to 1 hour observing chimpanzees once located. After this activity Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 03 :

BIGODI WALK AND TRANSFER TO KAMPALA

Breakfast and checkout from the lodge. Head to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community walk. The 2-3-hour walk takes you along wooden boardwalks and forest trails. Great Blue Turaco, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and swamp-dwelling wildlife are common sights. After that activity begin the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch along the way
